Modacrylic Fiber

Modacrylic is a widely used synthetic fiber having properties similar to those of acrylic and is flame - resistant. The fiber is made from resin that are copolymers or combinations of acrylonitrile and a variety of other compounds.

The fiber is strong, resilient, soft and dimensionally stable. It can be quickly dried, easily dyed and has good shape retention. Modacrylic is also resistant to chemicals and solvents. It is flame retardant and does not combust.

It is produced by polymerizing acrylonitrile together with certain modifiers. The fiber is produced in a staple form. They are manufactured in various lengths, crimp levels etc.
