Durcam Carpets and Rugs

Durcam technique for manufacturing carpets and rugs was first discovered in the year 1973. This construction method makes use of machines that can produce patterned carpets similar to spool Axminsters.

Manufacturing Process
The machine cuts individual yarns into short lengths and bends them into U-shaped tufts which are pressed at the bend to a backing that is coated with a plastic glue.

A tapestry like pattern may be produced with up to fifteen different colored yarns. The pattern construction is governed by magnetic tape and an electronic decoder device.
