Woven rugs and carpets most commonly constructed before the advent of tufted carets. Woven rugs represent a small segment of the market because the production process is slower and more costly.

Manufacturing Process
The carpets are constructed by weaving a pile yarn perpendicular to the warp and backing yarn in a manner that produces an integral unit. The pile is visible on the back whenever it is woven through. Density of construction determines the durability of the carpets.
